Best Practices
We support leagues and programs that keep the game safer, fair and fun. Our aim is simple. We deliver resources to the lacrosse community that creates the best atmosphere for players of all ages, backgrounds, sizes and skill levels to thrive. From coach and official education to safety research to showcasing the sport’s best players with our national teams, USA Lacrosse works with the community to provide leadership in all key aspects of the sport. We invite you to experience the joy the sport has to offer.
Rules and Safety
USA Lacrosse is at the forefront of striving to make the sport as safe as possible for all participants while ensuring a fair and competitive playing experience. Two primary ways USA Lacrosse does this is through its Center for Sports Science & Safety and through its involvement in the rules making process.
Led by medical experts with a passion for the sport, the Center for Sports Science & Safety was created in 2016 and is devoted to research, education, collaboration, policy development, and best practices guidelines that benefit the safety and wellness of lacrosse players, with a particular focus on youth players.
USA Lacrosse staff and volunteers also work together to write the rules for various levels of the game while working collaboratively with external organizations such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) on rule development and player safety efforts.
Become a Certified Coach
There are few things more rewarding than helping young people pursue their passion. USA Lacrosse has the resources to help you mentor young lacrosse players whether you've played the sport or not.
We work with programs at every level around the country that are aimed at serving the young players that form the foundation of our sport. We'd love to help you improve your knowledge and teaching skills to help put you in a position to best support them.
Let's get started.
