Welcome to Islanders Lacrosse, a new James Island/West Ashley based boys' youth lacrosse organization brought to you by the local SweetLax Lacrosse Club pros (the Charleston Loggerheads)

We are looking for 3rd graders and up, no experience necessary; if we can start with 3 teams, 3rd/4th/5th grades, 6th/7th/8th grades and 9th/10th/11th grades, we will start here and grow as quickly or slowly as needed.

Lacrosse is exploding in Charleston, all around South Carolina, and is still the fastest growing sport in America, year after year after year!

As part of the oldest and highest rated youth lacrosse club in South Carolina, the experience, tools and passion we have brought to Charleston via the Loggerhead’s SweetLax team puts us in the best position to expand youth lacrosse in the Charleston area and specifically on the James Island/West Ashley side where there currently isn’t anything. But speaking as a varsity coach for the James Island Charter High School, we want to compete with the Mt Pleasant high schools who have been focused on the youth side for 15+ years and in order to do this, we need to build something for this growing community.

More than anything though, lacrosse is the most special and unique sport; it’s American’s oldest sport and it is not only fun and fast, but one you can play for 20-30+ years. At the end of the day, the connections and opportunities lacrosse players are exposed to through being involved in lacrosse is really unlike any other sport and this is really behind our passion to get a dynamic youth club lacrosse organization started for the James Island community.

3rd/4th/5th - Speed Lacrosse (no pads, sticks only, soft balls, small field/goals) is the perfect “intro to lacrosse”

6th/7th/8th - Turbo Lacrosse (full pads, real balls, focus on individual skills, ground balls, catching, throwing, shooting, dodging)

9th/10/11th - Dynamic Lacrosse (this includes everything from Turbo, but layers in more ‘team play’, 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, 6 vs 6 and ultimately 10 vs 10 full field play)
